2007/2008 Owl Prowls at Hoffman Center
Join us for an evening with the fascinating nocturnal raptors, The Owls. Silent hunters of the night, owls are often portrayed as bad omens, creepy haunters of old buildings and cemeteries, or evil denizens of the dark.
Led by the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center, come see and learn about these amazing nocturnal hunters that live in our very own backyards.
The program starts off with a 1-hour live owl presentation by Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary staff. Then take a walk through the preserve as we try and locate some of the resident Owls. We have had great success in the past and we hope to continue that trend this season.
All prowls will run from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

“Bombs, Boom Boxes & Biodiversity: “The Deadly threat of Undersea Noise”
For a decade the National Resources Defense Council and its members have advocated successfully on behalf of whales and other marine animals, both at home and abroad. This presentation will focus particularly on the growing environmental problem of ocean noise pollution, including the proliferation of high intensity military sonar by the U.S. and other navies.
